It's been awhile!

Happy Wednesday! There’s been some changes going on in my family’s house…they’ve expanded our living space! In case you didn’t know, my fiancé and I have been living in small quarters for the past three years or so in a tiny corner of my mother’s house. We are so lucky to have my family take us in while we try to save a little money for our future nest!

Now that we’ve expanded, I don’t really know what to do with all this space. More room for more stuff I guess. Ha! Just kidding. It’s been a pain to clean and reorganize everything, but we’re making progress. I’m actually writing to you from our brand new desk which I built myself! I totally feel like a girl boss right now!

Anyway, moving hasn’t been the only thing on my mind. I’ve been in hardcore wedding planning mode since the last time I posted. I’m really enjoying every second of it. In fact, I never want it to end. I wouldn’t mind delaying the wedding a year or two if we had to. There’s always new ideas popping up on Pinterest and Instagram; I just love everything I’m seeing. Ugh, the possibilities really are endless!

I started this blog in hopes of inspiring others to create THEIR perfect day. I even took a wedding planning course to become more ‘knowledgeable’. It brings me so much joy to discover new wedding professionals. It is my hope that I continue to do so even after I’ve gotten married. So this post is for you two-three readers out there - I will not forget about you! Therefore, I will make an effort to post weekly. Real life can get pretty hectic sometimes. Its important to make time for the things that make us happy. For me, thats researching and writing. New content coming soon! I've got a lot in store for you. Stay Tuned!

One Year!

Well, it's been a little over a year since we got engaged and boy does time fly! It's been amazing thus far and we're really excited for what the future holds. I feel like we've grown closer and patient with one another and I'm glad we decided to take things slow. I am also very pleased that my fiancé has been really involved in the wedding planning process. With that being said, on the day of our engagement anniversary, we made some very important decisions! Let the countdown begin!

We finally have a plan and we couldn't be more relieved. Initially, we had so many vendors and locations to choose from - it was mind-boggling! We decided to keep things very simple. Less stress = more fun! At this time, I would like to share some ideas we had prior to making our big decision. Click on the links in bold! Enjoy!

Yosemite National Park

Holy Moly! We've never been, but the pictures are simply breathtaking. We hope to wander to the West Coast very soon. While on vacation in Mexico, my fiancé and I met a man from Jackson Hole, WY and he couldn't stop gushing about the place. As soon as we returned to the states, I did some research and Whoa! How did I not know this place existed?! The photo above is located in Mormon Row/Moulton Barns, which brilliantly showcases the Teton mountain range.

Cake Cake Cake

I’ve never been much of a cake person, but I couldn't imagine not having something sweet on our wedding day. There are so many options when it comes to sweets! You could set up a dessert station, order a traditional tiered cake or even opt for mini cupcakes/cakepops! The possibilities are endless! My mom makes a killer rum cake and tops it off with homemade frosting. It super easy and satisfying. I begged her to make a tutorial for you all, but she wouldn't budge. I'll keep trying though! If you're not into a whole lot of frosting, then you're in luck! Naked cakes are becoming quite popular in the wedding industry for their beauty and simplicity. Sure the use of fondant looks great on display, but I feel a lil' buttercream is more home-y. It makes you feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside! It definitely takes me back to my childhood. I'm all for comfort food; especially on a day that's so important. I know some couples like to go all out with the fancy food, but it's really not necessary. Choose a caterer/baker that represents your pallets!
