A Flower Story: DIY Faux Flower Backdrop
I’ve been wanting to do a flower wall fur-ever and figured it would be the perfect backdrop for my Frenchie’s 2nd birthday! Having a birthday party for a dog may sound crazy to some, but not to fur parents. My pup Nori is my best friend and she should be celebrated!
This project cost $9. Thank you Dollar Tree!
Supplies:
Eight Bunches of faux flowers (depending on how small or large you want it to be)
Washi Tape
Wire Cutter
Scissors
There is a big empty area in our living room where my husband made a DIY succulent wall hanging of the letter E. E is for Elliott, which is our last name. I completely forgot to take a before picture of the area, so just imagine a light-colored wall with an E covered in succulents.
1. Cut the stems off the bunches.
2. Organize your stems. Each bunch had an average of 5-6 stems. I decided I wanted 5 rows both vertically and horizontally. For this project, I used 26 stems. I tried placing my flowers in alternating order so that they wouldn’t be repeated. No matter how you organize, it will look great!
3. My husband did a great job with the E! Time to add a little pop color.
Grab a stem and tape to the wall using the Washi tape. I have textured walls, so I needed extra reinforcement (two strips). I started by doing each row vertically.
I used 3 stems of flowers and just tucked them into the E. No tape needed.
4. Take a pic of the final product.
5. Take a Selfie.
5. Take a photo of your pet and add a watercolor filter!
This post is dedicated to the love of our lives, Nori the Great!
Mommy and Daddy love you so much!
Happy Birthday!
